We built this because every other tool we tried lied to us about what it was protecting.

The leading tools protect one device. The house has thirty.

Walk through your home and count the screens that connect to the internet. The smart TV in the living room. The Apple TV. The Roku. The Xbox. The PS5. The iPad in the kitchen. Your daughter's tablet. Your son's school-issued Chromebook. The old laptop in the guest room. Your wife's phone. Your phone. The car's infotainment system. The Nest hub. The smart fridge.

Every one of those is a fully functional browser. Every one can reach anything on the internet that isn't actively blocked at the network level. And here's the thing the parental-controls industry doesn't want to admit:

We're treating the disease at the wrong layer. You can't protect a household by protecting one phone. The water gets in through the cracks you weren't watching.

Breaking Chains was designed from day one to protect at the home network level — every device that touches your Wi-Fi, by default, including the ones you didn't even know were online. Plus the per-device app for when you leave the house. Plus the AI vision layer that watches the actual frame, not just the URL. Three layers, not one.

On the device they do focus on, there are twenty ways around them.

My nephew has been in this fight longer than I have. He told me, plainly: "I know more than twenty ways to bypass Covenant Eyes." He wasn't bragging. He was grieving. Every workaround he found was a moment he wished the tool had held the line and didn't.

We took a different approach. We don't try to keep a list current. We watch what's actually on the screen — pixels, not URLs — using on-device vision models that run privately and never phone home. The transport layer can lie. The image cannot.

You are not the criminal. The framing has been wrong from the beginning.

Most accountability software treats you like a suspect on parole. You're surveilled. Reports are sent to a stranger you barely know — paid by the company, often a "partner" you've never met in person. The product positions you as the problem to be managed, and frames sin in the language of corporate risk.

That's not the gospel. That's not even close.

We built this on the opposite framing. You hold the key. You install the tool. You choose your brothers — the actual men in your actual life who actually love you — and they're the only ones who get notified. We never see your data. There's no central server you're being reported to. No subscription tying you to a company that profits when you fall.

The accountability isn't outsourced. It's relational. The technology exists to give the relationship room to work — not to replace it.

What we built differently.

The three pillars in one paragraph each.

Whole-house protection. A small box on your network — or just a configuration profile if you don't want hardware — quietly filters every connection from every device in your home, including the ones you didn't even remember were online. AI that sees. On every device that runs our app, a small on-device vision model watches the rendered screen the moment before it reaches your eyes. It sees what URL filtering can never see — the image inside the encrypted tunnel, the frame inside the private browser, the cached preview the app server never knew it was leaking. The model runs locally. Nothing is uploaded. The image never leaves your phone.

Brothers, not strangers. When you cross a milestone, your brothers hear about it and celebrate. When you request an override, your brothers hear about it and have a window to reach out before the block lifts. When you fall, your brothers hear about it and walk with you. Not a paid partner. That mentor's wisdom then becomes available, with explicit citation, to every brother on the platform who's chosen them as a guide.

This isn't a startup. There's no funding round behind it. There's no exit strategy. No advertising. No data being sold. We will never put a paid tier between a man and the thing that helps him stay free.

It's a small project, built on nights and weekends, by a man who needed it for himself, with a nephew who needed it too, and a sister who said the kids in her house deserve better than what's on the market. The men in our local group are the first testers. The men in their groups will be next. We grow by introduction.
